SATELLITE CLINICS
Members of the Guthrie Scottish Rite, in a desire to help more children in central and western Oklahoma, have established and funded satellite clinics in Lawton, Woodward, Ponca City and Elk City. Plans to open satellite clinics in additional communities are being developed. The goal of these satellite clinics is to provide services to preschool children with mild to moderate speech and language problems or difficulties in reading readiness. By setting up these satellites in carefully chosen locations, the Scottish Rite intends to insure that no preschool child in need of services is ever more than 70 miles or one hour of travel away from such services. Local Masons open their lodge to house the program.
